What type of person are you if you've purchased a cosmetic item in the past few weeks?
If you have purchased a makeup item in the last several weeks, you’re probably the type of woman who stays on top of current fashion trends. You’re conscious of the image you project, and you put effort into looking your best. The boost of confidence you get from wearing makeup spills over into other sections of life where you may face more of a challenge. Your enthusiasm for life is contagious. Apply lipstick, smile, and the world smiles with you. Your primary makeup drawer could probably use a bit of cleaning out because you enjoy creating diverse looks. However, if you have numerous, tall stacks of eye shadow containers, and a large wicker basket filled with every lip color you’ve ever purchased, it’s time to clear away the old and make space for the new. Makeup does get old and go bad. The current trend in makeup is a natural look. Create your own best version of the nude lip! Find a color of lipstick that is just a shade lighter, or darker, than your natural lip color. Make it a long lasting nude lip by first using a similar color of lip pencil to totally color in your lips. Apply your nude lipstick on top, and then add a touch of gloss in the middle of your lips. Natural looking lips, with a little enhancement, look quite attractive and luscious. Your choice of eye makeup colors and application techniques tend to evolve with your mood. To avoid overdoing color, select eyes, or cheeks, or lips for your artistic focus; never apply intense color to all three areas. You’ll lose the natural look, and excessive use of color makes women look older. Before you leave the house, check your makeup while standing a good distance from a mirror. If you can distinguish distinct colors from across a room, your makeup is heavier than it needs to be. Theatrical makeup is for the stage. If your day makeup needs to carry you on to an evening on the town, just a few adjustments will see you long past Cinderella’s curfew. Switching from a nude to a burgundy lip revs up the glamour factor. Shadows with glitter look fabulous in the evening. Under the dim of night, you’ll need a more intense color application than your usual day makeup. Be sure you suit your makeup application to the occasion. If you experiment and adapt, you may be able to tone down an extreme fashion model look so that you exude fashion, but still look appropriate. Makeup is glamorous and fun, and continuing to create different looks is a thrilling journey of self-discovery. |
